This paper is the result of primary research funded by EPA Victoria (Australia) and undertaken in 2005. The paper was recently published in the journal AccountAbility Forum Insight in practice.

AccountAbility –  Guidance Note on Assurance Levels and Statements as they Relate to the AA1000 Assurance Standard
In June 2007, AccountAbility released the draft Guidance Note on Assurance Levels and Statements as they relate to the AA1000 Assurance Standard (the Guidance Note). The Guidance Note is intended to provide new information on the concept of assurance levels as they relate to the AA1000 Assurance Standard and also includes a sample assurance statement. The Centre’s submission and accompanying letter to AccountAbility on the Guidance Note is now available to download.

Global Reporting Initiative – Electric Utility Sector Supplement
In early January 2007, GRI released for comment the draft Electric Utility Sector Supplement. The Supplement states on page 4 that “…the supplement content was developed to be globally applicable to electric utilities regardless of their type of generation, size, ownership or range of activities within the sector’. The Centre for Public Agency Sustainability Reporting has provided comment with a particular focus on the public agency utilities that fall into this definition.

New South Wales Department of Local Government
In November 2006, the New South Wales Department of Local Government released an Options Paper examining the effectiveness of the current planning and reporting framework in promoting sustainable outcomes for local government and presenting a number of options to strengthen their strategic focus.
